Power Supply, or PSU, is the unit in your PC which makes it all come to life. It brings power in the right amounts, to all the components in the PC, to make it function. A PSU draws AC from the wall plug and converts it into low voltage regulated DC for the internal PC components.

Most modern Power Supply’s are made in the ATX form factor, but some newer PSUs are also available in a SFX form factor, which is especially handy for ITX cases.
A PSU always emits a 5 volts (5VSB) signal to the PC, which ensures that all standby functions are available.
Another important thing about PSUs are their 80 PLUS certification. Originally invented to promote low power consumption Power Supply’s in PCs. Right now there are six different certifications: 80 PLUS, Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum and Titanium. Better from left to right.
As you can tell there are loads of different PSUs in existence for you to pick and choose from, when building your PC. Also you have to account for how much wattage your PCs total need is.
That is why we, at Tweak Reviews, have implemented a series of filters, which hopefully can help you down the road of choosing the correct PSU for your specific needs.
If you want to view all the PSUs we have tested over the years, you should not pick a filter and thus form a great overview. Do you, however, wish to see something specific, you could choose Seasonic or EVGA under brands.

In the brands dropdown, choose and click on EVGA. The other filters work much in the same way. Should you only wish to see PSUs that are 750 Watts, with 80 PLUS Gold and score a 4 or above, just go ahead and select these values. You can even apply price filters, allowing you to only be shown chairs with a price below $199.
Should you find that there are no results at all, you can return and adjust your requirements until results start popping up in the search.

If you are ever in doubt what different things mean on our website, you can follow the little how-to buttons. That will lead you to our dedicated area, where we try to explain as much as possible about PSUs - ie. how to make sure your PSU has enough wattage or the benefits of modular PSUs.
