RAM, or Random Access Memory. RAM is the working memory in any PC. Over the years RAM has become one of the things that people care not only about performance of, but also the looks of - especially since casemodding and transparent case sides have become the norm in the gaming community.

RAM is used to store the data that your system often uses, making it available quickly and ensuring fast performance. The clear benefit of RAM is, that read and write speeds are much faster than an HDD or even SSD. Slightly simplified, you could say that RAM is like the short term memory, that we all have in our brains. There’s only a limited amount of real estate available, before you need to move memories (or data) to the long term memory (SSD or HDD).
A quick overview of RAM tells the development of SD, DDR, DDR2, DDR3 and now DDR4 RAM. All the while DDR5 are expected to launch in 2020. It is important not to confuse DDR with GDDR RAM, which are for graphics cards.
Even then, DDR4 which is the main type of memory used today, comes in a variety of different speeds, the most popular of which are DDR4-1866, DDR4-2133, DDR4-2400, DDR4-2666, DDR4-2933 and DDR4-3200. Which ones make the most sense in your system depends on your choice of CPU, your motherboard and whether or not you are into overclocking.
That is why we, at Tweak Reviews, have implemented a series of filters, which hopefully can help you down the road of choosing the perfect RAM for your specific needs.
If you want to view all the RAM we have tested over the years, you should not pick a filter and thus form a great overview. Do you, however, wish to see something specific, you could choose A-Data or Corsair under brands.

In the brands dropdown, choose and click on Corsair. The other filters work much in the same way. Should you only wish to see A-Data memory that scores a 4 or above, just go ahead and select these values. You can even apply price filters, allowing you to only be shown RAM with a price below $159.
Should you find that there are no results at all, you can return and adjust your requirements until results start popping up in the search.

If you are ever in doubt what different things mean on our website, you can follow the little how-to buttons. That will lead you to our dedicated area, where we try to explain as much as possible about RAM - ie. the importance of read and write, how to overclock etc.
