Apple's long-awaited iOS Development Lab is now open at Galgotia University in Delhi. Inaugurated on February 20, the lab aims to foster innovation and foster the next generation of iOS developers. According to a press release from the university, the iOS Student Developer program was launched last September.
It is an industry-academia collaboration aimed at cultivating quality iOS talent in India and has been extended to Galgotia University. This initiative is part of the TWITCH collaboration representing Tata Consulting Services, Wipro, Infosys, Tech Mahindra, Cognizant and HCL, the press release informed. The collaboration gives students access to Mac computers, and each team receives iPhones, iPads and Apple Watches for development and testing purposes.
In addition, they benefit from educational materials from Apple and industry best practices shared by Infosys. The new iOS Development Lab is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, including 100 iMacs, offering students the opportunity for hands-on learning and practical application of iOS development principles.
Apple Senior Vice President Greg Joswiak expressed his delight at the opening of the iOS Development Lab at Galgotia University on X (formerly Twitter). He added that he was excited to meet the next generation of iOS developers. Dr. Dhruv Galgotia, CEO of Galgotia University, said that the collaboration with Apple has been an inspiring and enriching experience not only for students but also for the faculty and management team of the university. "The learning from the iOS Development Center will have a far-reaching effect that extends beyond the center's boundaries, specifically in the teaching methodology across the university," he added."
