The new OnePlus Watch 3 offers users one of the best battery lives on the Android smartwatch market. Google’s new Wear OS 5 ensures battery life of up to 16 days in power saving mode and 5 days in smart mode, and with super fast charging, the watch can be powered for a full day of use in just 10 minutes. The watch also offers new health monitoring features, including 60s Health Check-In, which measures key health data such as heart rate, oxygen saturation (SpO2), ECG, vascular health, wrist temperature, sleep, and both physical and mental well-being.
“OnePlus Watch 3 is a strong example of our Never Settle philosophy and our dedication to developing the latest wearable technology. With OnePlus Watch 2, we set a new standard for battery life, and a year later, it still stands as one of the most important factors for our users. That's why we haven't just maintained the impressive battery life - we've improved it further in Watch 3. At the same time, we're introducing 60s Health Check-in - a quick and easy way to get a snapshot of important health data, so Danes can easily stay updated on their well-being in their everyday lives,” says Martin Holstein Vest, Senior Product Specialist at OnePlus in Denmark.
Longer battery life supported by Dual-Engine architecture
The OnePlus Watch 3 is equipped with several technological improvements that enable its long battery life. The watch lasts up to 3 days in intensive use, up to 5 days in smart mode, and a full 16 days in power saving mode.
The battery capacity has been increased to 631 mAh, and is equipped with the OnePlus Silicon NanoStack Battery – the same technology also found in the OnePlus 13. The OnePlus Watch 3 also comes with the new BES2800 chipset, built on advanced 6nm FinFET technology. This results in increased CPU and NPU performance, while significantly reducing power consumption.
OnePlus' self-developed Dual-Engine architecture is powered by two flagship chipsets – Snapdragon W5 and BES2800 MCU Efficiency – which together play a key role in optimizing both performance and battery life.
The BES2800 Efficiency chipset runs the RTOS and handles background activities and tasks, while the Snapdragon W5 handles demanding tasks, such as running Google apps. This optimized approach is made possible by Wear OS’s hybrid interface, which allows the OnePlus Watch 3 to handle the two chipsets while switching between the two wearable operating systems. This architecture creates the perfect balance between peak performance and long battery life.
Health check in just 60 seconds
The OnePlus Watch 3 offers a complete upgrade to its health monitoring features. One of the key highlights is the so-called 60s Health Check-In, which is a quick and convenient tool for a quick health check. With just a tap of the All-in-One Scan button on the side of the watch, users can get a detailed health report in just 60 seconds. This assessment includes seven key health metrics, including heart rate, electrocardiogram (ECG), oxygen saturation, mental well-being, wrist temperature, sleep quality, and vascular age, which together provide a comprehensive picture of your overall health.
OnePlus Watch 3 focuses on both heart and vascular health and is equipped with advanced technology to ensure accurate measurements. The improved heart rate monitor and photoplethysmography (PPG) sensor, combined with the curved strap design, ensure accurate heart rate measurements. The watch also has an ECG function that can detect heart problems such as atrial fibrillation, high and low heart rates, and large fluctuations in heart rate. At the same time, the watch can assess the health of blood vessels by analyzing their flexibility and risk of stiffness, which can be signs of circulatory problems.
Additionally, OnePlus Watch 3 introduces the 360 Mind and Body feature, which helps users gain a better understanding of their physical and mental well-being. Using metrics like HRV (heart rate variability), resting heart rate, and activity level, OnePlus Watch 3 uses advanced health algorithms to analyze data and provide an overall assessment of stress and emotional states. The watch features an intuitive interface with a dynamic emoji that displays the user’s physical and mental state. The watch also recommends breathing exercises that help promote relaxation based on the user’s stress levels.
NOTE: OnePlus has stated that the ECG feature will not be available at launch. It will be added during Q2 2025, but the exact date has not yet been determined.
Fitness tracking for over 100 different sports
Fitness tracking has become even more precise with the new dual-frequency GPS (GNSS) chip, ensuring faster and more accurate tracking for outdoor activities like running. With its groundbreaking sensor and upgraded algorithms, the OnePlus Watch 3 offers an improved sports tracking experience. The all-new GPS technology ensures precision in measuring distance and route, so you can follow your path with great accuracy. Especially in specific environments like running tracks, the OnePlus Watch 3 delivers optimized and impressive performance.
The OnePlus Watch 3 supports over 100 sports, including running, cycling, swimming, yoga and many more. It offers 11 professional sports modes, such as the upgraded running mode that monitors performance and posture during exercise. The watch also assesses fat and carbohydrate consumption in heart rate zones and provides insights into exercise intensity and efficiency. This helps users manage intensity and optimize their workouts for safe and effective results, especially for weight loss-focused exercises.
Optimized user experience with Wear OS 5
The OnePlus Watch 3 runs on the latest version of Wear OS. Gmail on Wear OS 5 now supports email syncing and reply features, making it easier to manage emails. Google Wallet also now supports boarding passes, making travel more convenient.
Additionally, users can easily switch the watch to a new phone without having to reset the device. When connected to OnePlus smartphones, the watch also allows you to control the phone, such as playing videos like TikTok and YouTube Shorts, as well as controlling the phone's camera.
An elegant and durable design
The OnePlus Watch 3 is available in two elegant colors: Emerald Titanium and Obsidian Titanium. Both color variants are designed with durable materials such as stainless steel, a titanium-plated bezel (PVD) and a scratch-resistant 2D sapphire crystal display. For the first time, the watch also features a functional rotating crown that makes navigating between functions easy and intuitive.
With its titanium-plated frame and 1.5-inch LTPO flexible display, the OnePlus Watch 3 combines both elegance and durability. Built to MIL-STD-810H military standards and with an IP68 rating and 5ATM water resistance, the watch is ready to withstand the most challenging conditions. Whether you're on the beach, in the desert, or swimming, you can count on the watch to deliver reliable performance.
