Foxconn starts test production of iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max in Chennai to start mass production before the end of the year.

Foxconn, the world's largest electronics manufacturer, has been seen starting test production of Apple's iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max models at its factory in Chennai. The move marks an important change in Apple's production as it tries to diversify its manufacturing base away from China due to geopolitical tension.

With test production now underway, it is expected that Foxconn will begin mass production of these new iPhone models by the end of the financial year. This is an exciting development for Apple and for the Indian technology industries as a whole, as it could open the door for further investment and job creation in the area. The imported components that have been used in the small runs also show that this is still a pilot phase.

This allows Apple and Foxconn to fine-tune the production process and make sure everything is perfect before going full-scale production. Apple has long relied on Foxconn and their ability to provide large-scale iPhone production in China. But with rising tensions between the US and China and the prospect of a more unpredictable business environment, it makes sense for Apple to diversify its supply chain and move some of its production to India.

This shift will not only help Apple reduce the risk of future supply disruptions, it will also strengthen India's position as a central hub in the global technology manufacturing industry.
