Qualcomm accidentally reveals Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 device in YouTube video. New chip with custom Oryon cores coming in October!

Qualcomm showed off a Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 reference device by mistake. The company did this in a YouTube video. In this video, Qualcomm wanted to show people how they developed the Snapdragon X Elite, and the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 probably shouldn't have been part of the picture. This reference device was discovered by @Za_Raczke

The codename 'Pakala' also appears in the video, which is the codename for the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 processor. The design of this reference device is not really remarkable. It is a device with a dark blue casing and has several stickers and decals on it. It's a generic device that Qualcomm uses to test the chip.

It's interesting to see that Qualcomm itself ended up showing us this, probably by mistake. There is also a possibility that Qualcomm did not care enough to remove the video of all Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 references. It's not like big details were revealed or anything like that.

However, Qualcomm's executive confirmed that Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 will arrive in October. This detail was shared during Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona last month. We also know that the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 will come with custom Oryon cores.

This will be the first time Qualcomm uses its custom cores in a chip. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 is also expected to drop the efficiency cores altogether, so that will be interesting. This chip is expected to be produced on TSMC's 3nm 'N3E' process.
