Ubisoft yesterday unveiled the upcoming Assassin's Creed Shadows game when they released their Official World Premiere Trailer on YouTube. It is exclusively the story trailer and there was not the shadow of Gameplay.
The trailer gave us an insight into the game's setting, which is set in 16th century Japan with all that entails of Ninja and Samurai action. In the trailer, we got a first look at the two playable characters in Assassin's Creed Shadows and showed us a bit of the story. Of course, it's somewhat easier to make a cinematic trailer look inviting and interesting even if it might not end up quite representing the final game.
Therefore, we would naturally have liked to see that there was also some more information about the actual gameplay part of Assassin's Creed Shadows. The Assassin's Creed series has gone through quite a development since the first games in the series and not all fans are equally happy with the development that has taken place in the latest games. Therefore, it will be exciting to see what type of Assassin's Creed game Shadow ends up being and whether we will see new gameplay elements.
Little did we know, however, as we were told that there will be two characters we can play with two different styles each. There is the more shady and stealthy character in the form of Naoe who is a Shinobi (aka Ninja) and then the more dashing tank character in the form of the Samurai Yasuke.
Along with the trailer, Ubisoft also released a video where they went a little more in-depth with the two characters. They are both based on historical figures in the same way as the game, just as we know it from Assassin's Creed, is also based on historical events.
Ubisoft also gave us a little more meat on the details in a third video where they went into the background of the game's historical setting in the Sengoku period and the various people and locations we will meet in Assassin's Creed Shadows
