To celebrate reaching that goal, developers Cloud Imperium have released a new 25-minute video full of gameplay from the upcoming Star Citizen - Squadron 42. The video is a walkthrough of some of the things we can expect when Squadron 42 at some point becomes absolutely clear.
Cloud Imperium has otherwise been the target of a rather long-lasting joke, centered around the very long development time on the game. The original plan for the publication dates all the way back to 2014, and will therefore soon have its 10th anniversary. Despite that, there is still a lot of hype around the game.
The new video also gives us a really good insight into what eventually looks like it could become a solid game. In its original form, Star Citizen is an MMO game that combines First Person combat and exploration with space combat and elements of trade in a continuous world.
Squadron 42 is the story-driven single player part of the game, and what is the focus of the new video. The project has a large number of well-known actors attached, including Gillian Anderson, Mark Hamill, Gary Oldman, Liam Cunningham, Henry Cavill and John Rhys-Davis.
Even with the new video, there is no information about when we can look forward to Star Citizen - Squadron 42. After the, among many Sci-Fi fans, somewhat disappointing launch of Starfield, there are probably many looking forward to a solid Sci-Fi game.
