Many fans are hoping for a remake of the smash hit Bloodborne from FromSoftware. However, Hidetaka Miyazaki from FromSoftware has commented on it and it doesn't seem to be just around the corner.

Fans of Bloodborne have been waiting a long time for a remake of the popular game. The chairman of FromSoftware, Hidetaka Miyazaki, has finally commented on the many wishes of the fans. However, he has not confirmed whether a remake is in the works.

Bloodborne has enjoyed a loyal fan base as it is one of the highest rated Soulsborne games ever. Gamers have been eagerly awaiting more from the franchise for years. Games like Elden Ring have taken the Soulsborne genre to a new level, but Bloodborne's narrative, infused with Lovecraftian horror themes, is still considered the best by many. Over the years, fans have been asking for a PC version of Bloodborne, which despite several rumors, never ended up being realized.

With the launch of the PlayStation 5, fans were hoping that they would at least get a remake, if not a sequel, but that hasn't happened yet. Almost a decade ago, Bloodborne became a defining PS4 title. In an interview with Eurogamer, FromSoftware president Hidetaka Miyazaki expressed his gratitude to the fans who remain passionate about the game. He mentioned, "It's a title we care a lot about, as do our fans. It makes me very happy to see that there are still so many people who are passionate about it."

But when asked about the possibility of a remake, he apologized and refused to comment. Miyazaki shared a heartfelt sentiment about the emotional connection to the game and the impact it has had on his team. He also mentioned that a remake is only justified if there is a big enough jump in hardware power between generations. "I think new hardware is definitely part of what gives these remakes value, things you couldn't achieve on previous generations of hardware," he elaborated.

While Miyazaki didn't specify, he may have been referring to Demon's Souls, which got a wet remake for the PlayStation 5 after launching for the PlayStation 3 way back in 2009. The PlayStation 5 may not meet Miyazaki's criteria for a remake, both in terms of accessibility , as Bloodborne runs quite well on the PlayStation 5, and compared to a hardware jump as significant as what Demon's Souls experienced.

However, it certainly made quite a few fans happy, the ardent PC fans of the Soulsborne genre who have ensured that rumors of a PC port have remained current for nearly a decade. For now, Miyazaki has left a lot of ambiguity about the franchise's future, and it looks like FromSoftware's current focus will remain on Elden Ring's highly anticipated Shadow of the Erdtree DLC.
