The game takes place fourteen years before Gears of War. War heroes Marcus Fenix and Dom Santiago return home to face a new nightmare: the Locust Horde. These subterranean monsters, grotesque and relentless, erupt from the underground and lay humanity under siege.
Gears of War: E-Day promises to deliver an unprecedented graphical quality thanks to UE5. And while Microsoft and The Coalition didn't share further details, we can assume that the game will make full use of both Lumen and Nanite.
To celebrate this announcement, Microsoft shared a crisp in-engine cinematic trailer. As you will see, it looks absolutely stunning. The last panoramic shot in particular looks phenomenal. Then it will be interesting to see if the game will be able to match these visual effects during gameplay.
Finally, there is no date on when Gears of War: E-Day will be released.
