The new expansion for Cyberpunk 2077 lands on September 26. The main attraction is the new campaign story, which will further expand the story and give Night City a brand new large area called Dogtown.
On top of that, there will also be a new character, played by none other than Idris Elba. So an expansion for the game has been put in the oven for a bang. However, there are also a number of other additions, improvements and updates included when Phantom Liberty lands.
A large part of the updates are to the core systems of Cyberpunk 2077. This means that they will also be part of the regular game when you move around the rest of Night City outside of Dogtown, or maybe if you choose to start a hero new game from scratch.
The updates to the core systems include updated Skill Tree, improved AI for the police in Night City, lots of new weapons and improved combat from vehicles. There is also a new updated Cyberware system, along with a new perk system that gives the player new options such as deflecting bullets in the air, dashing in the air and a host of new presumably very lethal finishing moves.
All the new updates to the game come in the big Uodate 2.0, which launches at the same time as Phantom Liberty, but which luckily all players will have access to regardless of whether they buy the expansion or not.
