IGN has had a chat with the creators of the upcoming Action RPG No Rest for the Wicked, where they talk about their different approach to the combat in the game. This means that it differs quite a bit from other Action RPG games like Diablo.

IGN has shared a new gameplay video for the upcoming action RPG from the creators of the Ori games, No Rest for the Wicked. And, from what we can see, No Rest for the Wicked looks to be a cool mix between Diablo 4 and Dark Souls.

From what we can see, combat in this game will be thoughtful and tactical with a health bar and a stamina bar. This is a pleasant surprise, as No Rest for the Wicked won't feel like "another" Diablo or Path of Exile clone. No Rest for the Wicked will also have boss fights and a wide variety of weapons. Each unique weapon will have different stats and enchantments to set them apart. Additionally, each weapon will have different runes that unlock combos.

The game will also have something inspired by The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. To be more precise, players will be able to cook food to heal themselves.

Another big difference between this game and most other action RPGs is the absence of mana. Instead, the game will have a Focus meter that increases when you do well in battle. Each class will also use Focus for their special abilities.

In short, No Rest for the Wicked appears to be a mix of Diablo/Path of Exile and Dark Souls. And, to be honest, I'm now looking forward to it.

Although there is no date on when it will be released, Moon Studios will be holding a gameplay showcase event on March 1st so there could very well be more information.
