It is essential to emphasize that the still rather uncertain date is still just speculation, as there has been no official announcement from Sony. Nevertheless, more and more sources, with a good background in the gaming industry, suggest that the next PlayStation Showcase is close.
Despite the fact that E3 is apparently gone for good, there are going to be several gaming events during the summer. In early June, we can look forward to the Summer Game Fest on June 8, the Xbox Game Showcase, Starfield Direct and PC Gaming Show on June 11, and the Ubisoft Forward event the very next day.
Rumors suggest that Sony will overtake all of that by hosting their PlayStation Showcase event in week 21. This way, they will be ahead of the competition and likely have the most hype.
There is also a good chance that Sony will bring some of the biggest news to the table. Among other things, the rumors suggest that we will get the official unveiling of the exclusive partnership with KONAMI. This partnership will include games such as Silent Hill and Castlevania, and there are even talks about a remake of Metal Gear Solid 3.
To take advantage of the success of The Last of Us TV series, we will likely also see more from Naughty Dog at the PlayStation Showcase. Many fans expected a new version of the popular multiplayer Factions mode, which was part of the first game in The Last of Us Part II. However, Naughty Dog has announced that they had much bigger plans for The Last of Us Multiplayer, which would get its own stand-alone game, rather than being part of The Last of Us Part II.
The multiplayer game has been described as one of the biggest games from Naughty Dog, and Neil Druckmann himself has confirmed that there would be much more information this year. The PlayStation Showcase seems like a good bet for when we can get more details.
We can also expect to find out more about one of the biggest exclusive titles for PlayStation this year. The Spider-Man 2 game from Insomniac is scheduled for release sometime in September. So far, we don't know much about the new Spider-man game, other than that we'll be seeing Peter Parker and Miles Morales again. A short Reveal Trailer from PlayStation Showcase 2021 also hints that we can look forward to Kraven the Hunter and Venom.Original HTML:
