It has been over a decade since the release of Skyrim, yet there are still remarkable new developments based on the beloved game. One of the most recent is Whiterun, recreated with stunning accuracy in Unreal Engine 5.
Leo Torres, a Skyrim fan, is the one behind this remarkable version of Whiterun. He has used a combination of 3D models from other sources and custom models he made in Blender and textured in Mixer. He has also taken advantage of the latest features in Unreal Engine 5, such as Nanite for trees and foliage, and Lumen for Global Illumination and reflections.
Torres has also made the scale of the city more realistic, according to the lore of Elder Scrolls and Skyrim, making it larger than the version in the game. Despite this, Skyrim fans will still recognize many of the familiar locations.
Leo Torres has created other beautiful 3D animations, including scenes from Dragon Age and Mass Effect. To see more of his work, check out his YouTube channel here.
