Unfortunately, the green team did not reveal how Ubisoft will use Ray Tracing in this new Star Wars game. My guess is that we will probably get an RTGI solution, similar to what we saw in Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora.
Star Wars Outlaws takes place between the events of The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi. In this game, players will explore different planets around the galaxy, both iconic and new.
Players will assume the role of Kay Vess; an upstart villain seeking freedom and the means to start a new life. Alongside Vess, players will find her companion Nix. Players will fight, steal and cheat their way through the galaxy's criminal syndicates as they join the galaxy's most wanted.
The fact that the game will launch with DLSS 3 is also great. One would also hope that Star Wars: Outlaws will also support AMD FSR 3.0.
There is currently no word on when this new Star Wars game will be released. A guess would be that we're looking at a release date of late 2024. Not only that, but it may only be available on Ubisoft Connect. Or at least what Ubisoft has stated. So unlike their other titles, it might not come to other platforms like Steam and Windows Store at launch.
