Fun Dog Studios has announced that their co-op tactical survival horror shooter, The Forever Winter, will launch in Steam Early Access on September 24th. To celebrate this announcement, the developers have also shared a new gameplay trailer.

The first thing that caught my attention in The Forever Winter is the visual style of the game. It appears to be one of the best looking Unreal Engine 5 games (in terms of style and design). So I'm actually looking forward to it.

In this game, you and your team must search for supplies from the dead in order to survive, while large war machines fight non-stop in the background. The developers claim that this will not be a typical looter shooter. The game will have two factions fighting each other and you won't be a part of either of them. You will simply try to survive in the chaos of war.

The Forever Winter will also feature a dynamic encounter system. Thanks to this system, the enemies have their own goals and agendas. You will experience them operating in coordinated groups and participating in large-scale battles.

The concept of the game sounds interesting and it will have some huge enemies fighting each other. And since this is a PVE game, it will likely appeal to many players.

The Steam Early Access version will have four maps and one ongoing map. The game will feature five characters, each with their own background and playstyle. Players will also be able to customize their arsenal with a wide variety of weapons.

The developers have stated that there will be no payment solutions to win. This means you will earn your gear through skill or luck. Also, they have said that they will never charge money for a new character, map, weapon, new missions or bosses.

That said, this looks like an interesting game. However, since this is an Early Access launch, it may suffer from some performance or optimization issues. So keep that in mind before you buy it. I say this because many players were disappointed with the performance of No Rest for the Wicked during its Early Access launch. Then again, since this game will have some colossal enemies, it may also require a powerful PC system.
