The TC500 Luxe experience

The TC500 Luxe is now located at my desk and will be the chair I use for the foreseeable future to thoroughly test it. Although I am not an ergonomics expert, I will try to give an honest and detailed description of my experience with the chair, including materials, design and comfort.

First of all, there are the materials. The chair is made of fabric that feels both durable and resistant to small accidents, such as spilled drops. The fabric has a good texture that feels comfortable against the skin, and the stitching is done with high precision, which clearly shows that this is a chair where you pay extra for quality. This is not only a functional chair, but also an aesthetic piece of furniture that will dress up any office or gaming room. Unfortunately, the chair, like many other office and gaming chairs, suffers from the quality of the wheels. I quickly noticed that the wheels don't slide smoothly across the floor, giving the feeling that they are wearing out rather than rolling easily. Fortunately, this issue can be remedied with third-party wheels, but it's still a disappointing detail in a chair in this price range.

When it comes to comfort, it is incredibly good. The firmness of the chair provides excellent support, especially in the back, where the adjustment options make it possible to adjust the support in both the lower back and the upper back. It took me a while to find the perfect setting, but once I found it, it made a significant difference to my experience. The back immediately felt more relaxed and properly supported, which is essential for longer periods in front of the computer.

I also tried using the included neck pillow, but here I ran into a problem. The pillow pushed my head too far forward, resulting in my back not being able to fully enjoy the support that the chair's backrest otherwise offers. This led me to quickly decide to remove the neck pillow and continue the test without it. Without the cushion, the chair felt much more conformed to my body and I was able to enjoy the ergonomic support the chair is designed to provide.

Overall, the TC500 Luxe is a chair that offers many qualities in terms of materials and design, but also has small shortcomings, especially regarding the wheels and the headrest. Despite these drawbacks, however, it is a chair that provides excellent comfort and support when properly adjusted.

Conclusion

Having used the Corsair TC500 Luxe as my primary chair for an extended period of time, there is no doubt that it delivers a strong performance in several areas, but at the same time, there are some shortcomings that drag the overall experience down. The chair impresses above all with its excellent quality and design. The fabric is robust and comfortable against the skin, and even small accidents such as spilled drops bounce off without problems. The stitching is done with precision and contributes to the luxurious look that the Corsair TC500 Luxe exudes. It is clear that an investment has been made in creating a chair that is both functional and aesthetically pleasing.

Comfort is one of the most important points for a gaming or office chair, and here the TC500 Luxe delivers to a great extent. The firmness of the chair ensures that you get good support in your back, especially when it is correctly adjusted to your needs. The ability to adjust the backrest and lumbar support is particularly appreciated, and after a few tries to find the right setting, I found that my back relaxed and received the necessary support for long work or play sessions. The chair manages to maintain a good balance between firm support and comfort, which is essential for long-term use.

However, the neck pillow was a problem for me. It pushed my head too far forward, which negatively affected my posture. This meant I quickly removed the cushion and found the chair far more comfortable without it. However, this is a minor drawback, as the ergonomic design of the chair otherwise works very well.

One of the biggest disappointments with the TC500 Luxe is the wheels. They don't slide properly across the floor and feel like dragging rather than rolling easily. This is unfortunately a common problem with many office and gaming chairs, but it's still a disappointment in this price range. However, the wheels are interchangeable with third-party wheels, but it shouldn't be necessary to make that upgrade for a seamless experience. Another point is the armrests, which have flexibility for adjustment in 4D, but unfortunately they cannot be locked in a certain position, which can be annoying during use.

When you take the price into account, which is around $499.99, you expect a chair where all parts are optimized to perfection. Although the materials and comfort are high quality, the wheels and armrests feel like less well thought out aspects, making it difficult to justify the high price for all users.

Overall, the Corsair TC500 Luxe is a solid chair that impresses with its comfort, flexible adjustment options and great design. However, there is room for improvement in areas such as the wheels and the locking mechanism of the armrest, which are important factors to consider for a chair in this price range. If you're willing to invest and possibly make some small adjustments, the TC500 Luxe can give you a very comfortable and supportive experience.

Therefore, I also end up giving the TC500 Luxe a score of 9 out of 10. This is due to the high comfort and design of the chair, but minus the shortcomings in the wheels, the neck pillow and the locking function of the armrest, which can easily be seen as small things, which also result in the high score.
