The box of the be quiet! Pure Rock Pro 3 includes the cooler itself with its dual-tower heatsink as well as two pre-installed Pure Wings 3 120mm PWM fans. There are separate mounting kits depending on whether the cooler is to be used with Intel or AMD. An installation guide with detailed steps makes installation easy, regardless of platform. All necessary screws and brackets are also included for a safe and stable installation.
be quiet! Pure Rock Pro 3 comes with two Pure Wings 3 120mm PWM fans, designed to deliver high airflow with minimal noise. The fans have optimized aerodynamic blades that reduce turbulence and improve cooling efficiency. PWM control allows the speed to be adjusted dynamically for a balance between performance and noise level. They use high-quality bearings, ensuring long life and reliable operation. The combination of low noise and high efficiency makes them ideal for both gaming and demanding work tasks.
The be quiet! Pure Rock Pro 3 has a dual-tower cooling design that ensures optimal heat dissipation through a large number of aluminum fins. The efficient heat pipes with direct contact to the CPU improve heat transfer and contribute to a high cooling capacity. The tower's compact construction makes it compatible with many cases, while still providing space for RAM modules. The pure aluminum design ensures a stylish and functional aesthetic that fits most builds.
Assembly
Assembling the be quiet! Pure Rock Pro 3 is a user-friendly process, with pre-applied thermal paste ensuring easy installation. First, the correct backplate and bracket are installed depending on the CPU platform. Then, the middle fan is temporarily removed to allow access to the mounting screws.
Carefully place the cooler on top of the CPU and secure with the included screws for a secure fit. Once the cooler is secured, reattach the center fan to optimize airflow. Finally, connect both Pure Wings 3 120mm PWM fans to the motherboard's CPU fan header for proper speed control and performance.
The Test – Use and Performance
Test system
Test software
Procedure
The test is set up so that we first warm up the system with Cinebench for 5 minutes. Then it runs for 10 minutes where we measure the average temperature in HWiNFO64. We then finally subtract the room temperature at the given time and land on a delta temperature to give as neutral a picture as possible. The fans are set to run at full speed, so you get a picture of the maximum cooling performance with the load we now give it. This should give a real picture of how much you can strain the different coolers, and whether they can take more or less than what we give them.
**After following up a bit on the I9 12900K and heat generation, I have chosen to turn off Hyper-Threading to give the cooler a chance to show what it can do, rather than pushing the CPU to its maximum. All future tests will run like this.
The measurements:
The be quiet! Pure Rock Pro 3 performs impressively with a delta temperature of just 4 degrees at idle, placing it among the best air coolers in the test. It matches both the be quiet! Dark Rock Pro 5 and Dark Elite Pro, which also achieve a delta temperature of 4 degrees. Only the Noctua NH-D15 G2 HBC and the Cooler Master MasterAir MA824 Stealth perform marginally better at 3 degrees. The cooler outperforms several competitors, such as the Cooler Master Hyper 212 Halo Black and the Arctic Freezer i35 A-RGB, which have significantly higher temperatures. This result shows that the Pure Rock Pro 3 delivers very efficient cooling even at idle, which is evidence of strong thermal performance.
The be quiet! Pure Rock Pro 3 achieves a delta temperature of 59 degrees under load, which places it at the top end of the test. It matches the be quiet! Dark Rock Pro 5 and Dark Elite Pro, confirming its strong cooling performance. Only the Noctua NH-D15 G2 HBC (53 degrees) and the Cooler Master MasterAir MA824 Stealth (54 degrees) perform better. Compared to competitors such as the Arctic Freezer 36 A-RGB White (61 degrees) and the Cooler Master Hyper 212 Halo Black (74 degrees), the Pure Rock Pro 3 demonstrates very effective heat dissipation. This result shows that the cooler delivers high performance for demanding workloads while maintaining a stable temperature.
Noise level
Our noise measurements were made with a UNI-T UT353 dB meter. The measurements were made in a “real world” setup and not in a sound chamber. External influences have of course been tried to be reduced as much as possible but, as mentioned, were not made in a sound chamber. Our measurements should therefore be taken as a general indicator and not a scientific measurement. They primarily serve as a basis for comparison across tested products, which are always tested under as comparable conditions as possible.
The be quiet! Pure Rock Pro 3 achieves a noise level of 39 dBA, which places it in the middle of the test. It is slightly quieter than the Noctua NH-D15 G2 HBC, which measures 43.1 dBA, but slightly louder than the be quiet! Dark Rock Pro 5 at 36.3 dBA. The cooler is close to the be quiet! Dark Elite Pro, which has 39.4 dBA, and is only marginally louder than other compact coolers such as the Noctua NH-D9L Chromax.Black and NH-L9X65. The result shows that the Pure Rock Pro 3 manages to balance cooling efficiency and noise level well, but it could be even quieter compared to some premium models.
Price
Da Pure Rock Pro 3 not released during the test period, we have been informed of an MSRP of 50$

Conclusion
The be quiet! Pure Rock Pro 3 proves to be a highly competent air cooler that delivers solid cooling performance at a competitive price. With a delta temperature of just 4 degrees in idle and 59 degrees under load, it manages to stay among the best in its class. It performs on par with more expensive alternatives like the be quiet! Dark Rock Pro 5 and Dark Elite Pro, which is impressive for a cooler in this price range. Only a few high-end models like the Noctua NH-D15 G2 HBC and the Cooler Master MasterAir MA824 Stealth outperform it by a few degrees. This confirms that the Pure Rock Pro 3 is a strong choice for those looking for effective heat dissipation without breaking the budget.
The noise level of 39 dBA places it in the middle of the test. It is quieter than the Noctua NH-D15 G2 HBC, but not quite as quiet as the be quiet! Dark Rock Pro 5. This means that while the cooler is not the quietest on the market, it still delivers an acceptable balance between noise and performance. The two included Pure Wings 3 120mm PWM fans provide good airflow, but if maximum silence is a priority, there are quieter alternatives.
The assembly of the Pure Rock Pro 3 is simple and user-friendly, making it suitable for both experienced PC enthusiasts and first-time builders. The pre-applied thermal paste saves time, and the thoughtful assembly with a temporarily removed center fan allows easy access to the screws. This ensures a quick and hassle-free installation without having to struggle with cumbersome brackets or inaccessible screws.
The MSRP of $ 50 makes it a very attractive choice in its category. Compared to more expensive dual-tower coolers, it delivers impressive value for money, making it ideal for users who want strong cooling performance without investing in premium models. However, its size can be a challenge in smaller cases, which should be taken into account before purchasing.
Overall, the be quiet! Pure Rock Pro 3 is an excellent air cooler that combines efficient heat dissipation, reasonable noise levels, user-friendly assembly and an attractive price. It performs strongly in both idle and load tests, proving that an affordable dual-tower cooler can deliver high-level results. It is not the absolute quietest model, but for most users the noise will be at an acceptable level, especially in light of its powerful cooling capacity.
With all this in mind, the be quiet! Pure Rock Pro 3 is awarded a score of 9 out of 10. It also receives a "Great Product" award as it delivers excellent performance at an affordable price and is an obvious choice for users who want high cooling efficiency without paying for more expensive high-end models.
