About case modding
Casemodding, a trend that started in a bygone era. At a time when boring beige cases ruled in any office or nerdy kids room. A time when a black case was exotic, casemodding took its first steps. Fan ducts, fan-grills and cold cathodes, maybe even a drizzle of UV light, made its way into cases. Dremel machines were snatched from dad's workshop and holes were cut, windows (not the OS) were installed, thus allowing free look at those sexy green circuitry boards, with transistors and soldering that would render any electrician speechless, and not in a good way! The cable mess was just added bonus points and fans were installed.
Oh the glory!
Today casemodding has come a long way. Cases come prefabricated with amazing gear and gadgets, blowers with RGB-glory and there is almost no limits to the enginuity shown by case fabricators. Watercooling, without sides or sides made entirely of plexi or even tempered glass. The sky is the limit!
But how are you supposed to figure what is what in this realm of opportunities, fans and glowing RGB madness?
We have tried to collect all of the answers here on Tweakreviews.com and at the same time we have implemented a lot of filters, which hopefully help you on your path to choose the right casemod for your needs.
If you just want to see all the casemodding equipment we have tested, of course, do not choose any filter, so you can get a full overview. However, if you want to see something very specific, you can, for example, choose EK or Corsair as a brand.
In the brands dropdown, choose the and click on Corsair. The other filters work much in the same way. Should you only wish to see Corsair fans that score 5, just go ahead and select these values. You can even apply price filters, allowing you to only be shown fans with a price below $20.
Should you find that there are no results at all, you can return and adjust your requirements until results start popping up in the search.
If you need to know what different things mean, then all you have to do is to click on the little how-to button. In that section we will try to explain the most common areas of casemodding and how to choose the right parts. An example would be: Which lighting is best for a particular case? Or how to match different types of casemodding gadgets, to get the best look.
In our casemodding test section, you will be able to find all the tests we have performed of different casemodding devices. But keep in mind that we always review all products based on our own subjective findings and therefore you are reading a testament to our experiences with the product. This protects you from a load of dictated statements and best-case scenarios, that a manufacturer would want you to hear - Therefore we are your partner, providing you with a real-life view into the products.
The news button, is if you are interested in reading the latest news about casemodding. It may be especially relevant to those who prefer to be up to date with recent trends and developments
