3D Print technology can be much more than just a fun hobby. An American company, together with Motorola and Bambu Lab, has created a solution that allows phone repairers to print parts and tools. Really good measures in relation to both the environment and repairability.

Red Wolf Technology, a provider of on-demand screen protection and 3D printing solutions based in Utah, announces a partnership with Motorola Mobility. This partnership will allow repair shops to 3D print original OEM Motorola tools used to repair mobile phones. These tools, including fixtures and molds, are produced using Red Wolf Technology's innovative 3D printing platform, Primo Print3D, marking a historic first in the mobile repair industry.

Red Wolf Technology's Primo Print3D system, primarily used for 3D printing phone covers and accessories, now produces high-quality repair tools for Motorola Mobility. This aligns with Motorola Mobility's commitment to making repairs easier and more accessible by offering solutions directly to repair shops. Whether printed in a shop or purchased online, users will have immediate access to OEM-quality tools through digital production.

"We are incredibly excited to partner with Motorola Mobility on this initiative," said Brad Bacigalupi, founder and CEO of Red Wolf Technology. "Digital manufacturing is making great strides towards the mainstream, and we are proud to be a leader at the forefront of this movement. Our expertise in 3D printing combined with Motorola Mobility's forward-thinking approach uniquely positions us to revolutionize the repair industry."

This partnership represents a significant leap in accessibility and efficiency for repair professionals. "Access to repair tools can be expensive, time-consuming and logistically challenging," said Darwin Garcia, Service Engineering Manager at Motorola Mobility. "3D printing is a new and exciting approach to solving these problems. Red Wolf Technology has been incredibly supportive in adding our repair tools to their 3D printing platform."

The collaboration exemplifies how innovative technology can drive change across the industry, to the benefit of both repair professionals and consumers. Repair shops can now produce OEM quality fixtures and molds on site, reducing lead times and ensuring the highest quality repairs.

Bambu Lab's role in innovation

Red Wolf Technology chose Bambu Lab 3D printers for their speed, finished part quality, low maintenance, user experience and value. Bacigalupi explains: “We had been researching 3D printing as a method of delivering products to customers on-site in retail stores and repair shops for many years, but previous solutions were too slow, produced poor finished parts, had terrible software and hardware user interfaces and were very expensive. Bambu Lab's combination of fast printing, near flawless finished parts, minimal user maintenance, polished user experience and great value made us confident that the market would be excited to bring this new technology into their shops, repair facilities and warehouses."

The collaboration with Bambu Lab's products has opened up new markets for Red Wolf Technology that were previously not possible due to limitations in other platforms. Bacigalupi shares, "Given the incredible performance of the hardware and the great software, we are now able to focus our resources on a refined library of parts and support our customers more effectively."

Understanding of fixtures and fasteners

For those unfamiliar with the terms, fixtures and fasteners are essential tools in the repair process. Bacigalupi explains: "When replacing a broken phone screen, the repairer must precisely adjust specialized glue and gasket parts that attach the new glass to the phone's body. These parts must be pressed uniformly to ensure a proper seal that prevents water and dust from entering .Manufacturers provide tools and fixtures to help repairers adjust these adhesive strips and crimping tools."
