Bully, also known as Canis Canem Edit in Europe, is a critically acclaimed Open WOrld action adventure game created by Rockstar Vancouver. It was originally released for PS2 in 2006, before an enhanced version of the game, subtitled Scholarship Edition, came to Wii, Xbox 360 and PC two years later.
A third edition debuted in 2016 when Bully: Anniversary Edition was launched on the iOS App Store and Google Play Store. Now, according to newly published ratings in Taiwan, Bully may be making a comeback. The newly surfaced evidence suggests that Rockstar may be working on modernizing Bully for the latest two console generations.
Even though fans have been asking for Bully 2 for years, Rockstar has failed to deliver and at this point a re-release might be better. Rockstar has just added Bully to its GTA+ subscription service available on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S.
This move may have prompted them to update the game's age ratings. Rockstar has previously had success remastering classics, as they did with Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy in 2021 and with Red Dead Redemption in 2023.
So a remastering of Bully would not be unusual. The new age ratings have surfaced online shortly after a report claimed that Rockstar was once working on a Bully DS port, which was shelved around 2009.
In addition to new versions of Bully, Taiwan's Game Classification Authority also recently released ratings for console editions of Nine Sols, a critically acclaimed metroidvania game. Bully is created by Rockstar Games, the same team behind Grand Theft Auto and Red Dead Redemption. Bully is often referred to as "GTA at school", as the game is set in a boarding school where players will attend classes, make friends and enemies, and follow an exciting narrative of breaking down social barriers.
