One likely option is Gamescom Opening Night Live, hosted by Geoff Keighley and going live on Tuesday, August 20 at 20:00 CET on all major streaming platforms and is expected to last two hours. It would certainly be an interesting choice, as the game itself is not scheduled to be shown at the German expo, not even to the press.
In the blog post, BioWare also shared some highlights from their recent trip to San Diego for 2024's Comic-Con. There, the developers introduced the Dragon Age: The Veilguard voice cast for the player character (there will be two choices for male and two for female, so players can choose between British and American accents) and the seven companions.
Performance Director Ashley Barlow said:
"I feel like you can fall in love with any of them. Everyone who's touched this project has put a piece of their heart into it and into all the different characters you cross paths with. For me , in the story of the Companions, it sometimes felt like I was watching a scene out of my own life. It's a powerful feeling to have something or someone to relate to on screen."
She also talked about fan-favorite character Lace Harding, the dwarf ranger from Dragon Age: Inquisition, played by Ali Hillis (Dr. Liara T'Soni in Mass Effect):
"Ali brought weight and history to this project as an anchor for the series. There was a growth in Harding. She's a veteran now. She's a trusted voice at the table and the writers did a great job integrating her with the new team and find the relationships with each of the unique characters."
Dragon Age: The Veilguard is scheduled for release this fall on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series S|X.
