CORSAIR Launches RMe Platinum with GPU Protection

CORSAIR has introduced an upgraded version of its popular RMe series power supplies: the RM850e and RM1000e. The new generation comes as a complete bundle with the new ThermalProtect PCIe 5.1 600W 12V-2x6 cable, which protects modern graphics cards from overheating and cable damage.

Built-in overheating protection

The RMe power supplies are ATX 3.1 certified and support the PCIe 5.1 standard. The highlight of the package is the included 12V 2x6 cable:

  • ThermalProtect technology: A hardware sensor is located 30mm from the graphics card connector. If the cable temperature exceeds 65°C, protection is activated and the graphics card is automatically turned off to prevent hardware damage.
  • Dual-tone connectors: The connectors on the cable have a two-tone surface so you can visually confirm that the cable is fully engaged.

Platinum efficiency and compact design

Both models in the series have been upgraded from Cybenetics Gold to Cybenetics Platinum, ensuring up to 91% overall efficiency.


  • Compact size: With a length of just 140 mm, the power supply fits into almost all ATX cases.
  • Quiet operation: Supported by a customized fan curve and ZERO RPM Mode, which turns the fan off completely at low and moderate loads.
  • Fully modular: Comes with soft, embossed cables in either black or white.

Prices and availability

The RMe Series Platinum power supplies are available today from the CORSAIR online store and authorized resellers. Both models come with a 7-year warranty and have the following suggested retail prices in Denmark:

  • RM850e (incl. ThermalProtect cable): DKK 1,179
  • RM1000e (incl. ThermalProtect cable): 1,469 DKK
