eufy (Anker's smart home brand) has just launched their latest weapon in the fight against dog hair and stained floors. With the Robot Vacuum Omni C28, they bring their advanced roller mop technology down to the more affordable C-series for the first time, tailored for busy Nordic families with children and pets.

The big physical novelty on the robot itself is the HydroJet roller mop. With a width of a whopping 27.2 cm, it is the longest mop in this price range. Under the bottom we also find eufy's special DuoSpiral Detangle brushes; they are equipped with built-in "combs" that physically cut and pull hair from the rollers so that they do not get tangled and block the machine. But robots of this type are nothing without their base. With the C28 you get a massive All-in-One Station.

It automatically empties the dust container, fills the robot with clean water, collects waste water and washes the roller mop. To avoid bad smells, the station dries the mop with hot air through a new four-channel system that makes drying 25% faster. The capacity of the station means that you can actually let the machine take care of itself for up to 75 days.

iPath 2.0 Laser Navigation

The brain behind the machine is the eufys iPath 2.0 Laser Navigation. It uses advanced LiDAR to map the home, recognize furniture and avoid obstacles on the floor. The software is also intelligently integrated with the hardware when it comes to the surface. As soon as the robot detects a carpet, it activates a lifting system that lifts the roller mop up to 10.8 mm in the air. This means that it can vacuum the carpets without getting them wet. It is also programmed to be able to climb door thresholds of up to 20 mm, which is essential in older, Scandinavian homes.

On the floor, the Omni C28 delivers some impressive numbers. It has a suction power of 15,000 Pa, which is enough to pull up heavy dirt and pet hair from deep carpets. But it's when mopping that the machine really stands out. While many cheaper robots just drag a wet, static cloth across the floor, the HydroJet system works by having the roller clean itself 9 times a second. An internal scraper constantly presses against the roller to direct the dirty water up into the waste water tank, so the robot always washes with clean water. Combined with a downward pressure of 10N, this means that it actually scrubs away stubborn stains.

On the Nordic market now

The eufy Robot Vacuum Omni C28 is an extremely strong offering for a cleaning assistant for those who want premium features without paying a premium price. Getting a continuously self-cleaning roller mop, massive suction power and a fully automatic emptying station in this segment is impressive. The machine is available now in the Nordic market, and with a suggested retail price of 5,999 DKK, eufy is seriously pushing the established competitors on value for money.
