While we might think we know everything there is to know about the series before the big reveal, a new leak suggests that the tech giant is planning to bring some interesting changes to its weather app for the next generation Pixel series .
Google chooses a new minimalist design for its weather app on the Pixel 9 series The Pixel 9 series has been the center of attention, especially with Google's big reveal event just around the corner. The rumor mill seems to be in full swing, revealing significant details about camera upgrades, sizes, colors and other advancements for the upcoming models. A new leak suggests that Google will release a weather app exclusive to the series.
According to Android Authority, Google is working on a revamped weather app for the upcoming Pixel 9 despite the company making major changes last year. This app will be part of the current Pixel weather app, but will feature a new design and other significant improvements. The Weather app will initially be reserved for the Pixel 9, but will later be expanded to other Pixel devices.
At first glance, one could feel that it is similar to the existing weather app as the layout has not changed much, but the cluttered look is now gone. Google this time opts for a minimalist design, without animation, and we don't see Froggy anywhere. The background color also changes depending on the weather conditions and the displayed gradient appears more subtle. The new weather app will have a customization option to drag and change elements according to your preferences. The temperature will be displayed in larger icons, improving its visibility and aesthetics and focusing more on the temperature and weather conditions.
The location selection screen has also been redesigned, with information displayed in a larger font. This makes it easy to get the information you need and visually more appealing than the previous version. The lack of animation gives it a more subtle look overall, but takes away some of the fun. Google picking up this new weather app would be a nice change, and we could see more about it at the keynote.
