Noctua has confirmed that all of its CPU coolers and mounting kits that support Intel LGA1700 will also support the new LGA1851 socket for the upcoming Core Ultra desktop processors (Series 2), also known by the codename Arrow Lake-S. Upgrade kits to mount for older cooler models that do not yet support LGA1700 and LGA1851 will be provided free of charge to customers.

"We've been offering free mounting upgrade kits to our customers ever since AMD introduced AM2 in 2006, and we proudly continue that tradition with the upcoming Intel® Core™ Ultra Series 2 processors and their new LGA1851 socket," said Roland Mossig (Noctua CEO) . "While all of our current multi-socket coolers already support LGA1851 out of the box and do not require updates, customers will be able to upgrade most older coolers at no extra cost, so even the very first Noctua coolers from 2005 can be used on the latest Intel processors!"

banner_intel_lga_1851_2_xl.jpg Intel's new Core Ultra desktop processors (Series 2), also known under the codename Arrow Lake-S, are based on the all-new LGA1851 socket, replacing the previous LGA1700 platform. While the new Core Ultra 9 285K, Core Ultra 7 265K or Core Ultra 5 245K models cannot be used on LGA1700 motherboards, all LGA1700 compatible Noctua CPU coolers and mounting kits are also compatible with LGA1851 and require no updates to be used on the new Z890 motherboards.

Older coolers that do not yet include LGA1700 mounting parts can be upgraded for free via the mounting kit order form on Noctua's website. Proof of purchase of both a qualifying Noctua CPU cooler and either an LGA1851 CPU or LGA1851 motherboard is required for ordering. Depending on the country, express shipping may be available, but this will be subject to service charges.

Alternatively, customers who need the mounting kits quickly can purchase NM-i17xx-MP83 and NM-i17xx-MP78 kits on e.g. Amazon.

intel_lga1851_web.jpg "Using a CPU cooler across multiple platform generations instead of buying a new cooler for each generation is not only economical, but also helps reduce unnecessary waste and save valuable resources," explains Roland Mossig (Noctua CEO). "By upgrading instead of replacing your cooler, you are actively contributing to a more sustainable PC industry!"

For customers looking to future-proof their Noctua coolers across both AMD and Intel platforms, Noctua recommends the NM-M1-MP83 or NM-M1-MP78 kits. These packages include all necessary SecuFirm2+® mounting hardware for AM5 and LGA1851/LGA1700 sockets along with a Torx screwdriver for easy installation.
