The Basilisk series has traditionally catered to gamers who don't want to compromise on comfort, customization, and high performance. The new V4 Pro model retains the familiar form factor with its integrated thumb rest, but adds more precise controls, an upgraded optical sensor, next-generation scroll wheel, and full underglow lighting—all while weighing 12 grams less than its predecessor.

Barrie Ooi, Head of PC Gaming Division at Razer, said in connection with the presentation:
“Basilisk has always been about giving gamers the freedom to play their way. With Basilisk V4 Pro, we’ve elevated that experience with a refined design, greater control, our most advanced scroll wheel, sensor, and immersive Chroma RGB lighting. It’s the ultimate expression of what a Basilisk can be, built to bring precision, control, and immersion to any game and any setup.”
The design retains the classic silhouette, but the familiar multi-function trigger has been relocated for easier and more natural reach. At the same time, space has been made for a new third side button and a brand new M1 edge button by the left mouse button. This brings the total number of programmable controls to 14 buttons . Via Razer Synapse, the buttons can be assigned Razer Hypershift functions for secondary commands or linked to automatic game profiles.

The scroll wheel has been upgraded to the Razer HyperScroll Tilt Wheel Gen-2 , which introduces multiple ways to scroll:
Tactile Mode: Traditional resistance with 24 steps.
Precision Tactile Mode: A new, finer control with 48 steps, suitable for quickly switching between abilities or weapons in a hotbar.
Free-Spin Mode: Stepless and resistance-free scrolling for quick navigation in long documents or menus.
Smart-Reel Mode: Automatically switches between mechanical resistance and resistance-free scrolling based on how fast you scroll with your finger. Additionally, Virtual Acceleration in Razer Synapse allows you to dynamically increase scrolling speed in five different levels.
The Basilisk V4 Pro's performance is powered by the new Razer Focus Pro 50K Optical Sensor Gen-3 , which delivers up to 50,000 DPI, 930 IPS, and 90 G acceleration. The sensor uses Frame Sync to match its scans directly to the mouse's refresh rate, minimizing latency and conserving battery life.

Wirelessly , Razer HyperSpeed Wireless Gen-2 is used, supporting a true 8000 Hz refresh rate in both wired and wireless modes. In Razer Synapse, gamers have access to advanced aiming features such as Perfect 180 (instant 180-degree turn for low-sensitivity gamers), Dynamic Sensitivity , and independent adjustment of Lift-Off and Landing Distance via Asymmetrical Cut-Off. The clicks themselves are handled by Razer Optical Mouse Switches Gen-4 , which are rated for 100 million clicks and have 12 percent lighter actuation.
Visually, the mouse features 7-zone Razer Chroma RGB lighting with full underglow , where the light is cast down onto the mouse pad and diffused outwards, remaining visible regardless of grip. The lighting is customizable in 16.8 million colors and dynamically syncs with over 300 integrated games and products from more than 50 partners.
The mouse supports 5-way connectivity, allowing you to switch between HyperSpeed Wireless Gen-2, wired operation, and upgraded Bluetooth 6.2 (which can pair with up to 3 different devices such as laptops and tablets) with a single press of a button. The battery delivers up to 200 hours of playtime via HyperSpeed Wireless at 1,000 Hz and up to 275 hours over Bluetooth .

Alongside the top model, Razer is presenting two related news:
Razer Mouse Dock V2 Pro: A wireless charging dock with magnetic attachment. The dock features a built-in 8000 Hz wireless receiver ( transceiver ) that enables the high refresh rate of the Basilisk V4 Pro. It also supports Razer HyperSpeed Multi-Device Support for connecting both a mouse and keyboard to one device, has 8-zone Chroma RGB underglow, a battery indicator, and a non-slip bottom. (Razer also offers the Razer HyperFlux V2 wireless charging pad.)
Razer Basilisk V4 HyperSpeed: A simpler and more streamlined version of the mouse for gamers who want only the essentials. Weighing just 94 grams , it comes with a Razer Focus X 33K Optical Sensor Gen-3 , 12 programmable buttons, and up to 140 hours of battery life.
