It took Steam a while to set a new record for concurrent players. Back in March 2024, Valve's service reached 36 million concurrent players. However, that record has now been broken as Steam surpassed it and had over 37 million concurrent players.

To be precise, Steam hit 37.266 million concurrent players. So it will probably be a while before it reaches over 38 million concurrent players.

Now let's take a look at the 20 most played games in the last 24 hours. There are some interesting items on the list along with the expected favorites.

The most played game right now is Counter-Strike 2, followed by Black Myth: Wukong. Black Myth: Wukong is doing extremely well on Steam. Yes, 90% of its sales reportedly come from China. But that is irrelevant. The game has sold incredibly well and has become the most played single-player game on Steam.

In third place we find DOTA 2, followed by Banana. And no, it's not a joke. Banana is a clicker game where you click on a banana. This is a free title and it has very positive reviews on Steam. I really don't know what is going on here, but it is something that has attracted a large audience.

In fifth place we find PUBG: Battlegrounds, followed by GTA5 and Once Human. APEX Legends is in ninth place, and in tenth place we find Rust.

Before we end, it's worth noting that Baldur's Gate 3, Elden Ring and Call of Duty are among the 20 most played. We can also find Path of Exile and War Thunder. Civilization VI is also in eighteenth place.

Finally, Valve's Deadlock is in last place. Deadlock is currently in closed beta, but its participants can invite friends. And as you can see, its beta phase has been huge. So expect another multiplayer megahit from Valve.
