Fans get plenty of new details about The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom with the latest trailer released. Announced as the next entry in the Zelda series during a Nintendo Direct in mid-June, the new game is a dream come true for fans eager to see Princess Zelda as the protagonist.
In Echoes of Wisdom, Princess Zelda must discover why cracks have begun to appear over Hyrule and where they are taking the inhabitants of the kingdom, including Link. Echoes of Wisdom will have unique gameplay never seen before in a Zelda game. To solve most puzzles, defeat enemies, and traverse Hyrule, Zelda will use an ability to create Echoes, which are replicas of objects found in the game's environment.
It was previously thought that Echoes would be the main mechanic in Echoes of Wisdom, but according to a new trailer, that's not all. According to the overview video, Princess Zelda gets two additional powers in Echoes of Wisdom, along with a four-legged friend to help her through her journey. The video also gives players plenty of information about the extensive lands they'll be able to visit in the upcoming game, along with fun consumables and cosmetic items.
Notably, smoothie shops will appear throughout the game, tasking players with blending specific ingredients to gain useful buffs. In addition to the ability to create Echoes, Zelda will also be able to use Bind and Reverse Bond in Echoes of Wisdom. Bind forces an object or enemy to follow Zelda's movements, making it possible to drop creatures off cliffs, unearth treasure, or remove objects blocking a path.
Reverse Bond works the other way around, making Zelda follow the object or enemy's movements instead, allowing her to potentially fly or move faster. The possibilities are endless, especially if players combine Echoes with these abilities.
According to the overview video, fans will be able to visit familiar regions in Echoes of Wisdom, including the Gerudo Desert, Jabul Waters, Eldin Volcano, and Goron City. To make it easier to navigate, Zelda can summon her trusty steed by using a carrot, and by reaching new areas, fast travel points will become available.
The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom promises to be an exciting addition to an ever-growing library of Zelda games when it releases on September 26, 2024.
