New MSI X870 motherboards for AMD Ryzen 9000

MSI has now officially been able to unveil some of the news in motherboards that come with the new Ryzen 9000 series from AMD. The new high end motherboard series comes on a new X870 chipset. MSI has issued a press release about some of the new motherboards from them:

MSI is excited to announce the launch of the latest AMD Ryzen™ 9000 Series processors, debuting on the new X870 chipsets. Powered by cutting-edge 4nm CPU processor technology, the Ryzen 9000 series promises to revolutionize the computing landscape with exceptional performance, efficiency and versatility for gamers and content creators. At launch, there will be four new AMD Ryzen 9000 Series CPUs available: Ryzen™ 9 9950X, 9900X, Ryzen™ 7 9700X and Ryzen™ 5 9600X. They are compatible with the AM5 socket, and existing AMD 600 Series motherboards and Ryzen 9000 Series processors can be seamlessly integrated with each other by updating to the latest BIOS, which is readily available on MSI's product support page.

At this year's Computex 2024, visitors to the MSI booth will have the opportunity to see two models first hand, the MAG X870 TOMAHAWK WIFI and the PRO X870-P WIFI. In addition, a comprehensive range of features awaits users across the MPG and MEG series, ensuring a wide range of options to meet every need.

MSI X870 Motherboards Product Features

In this latest generation of motherboards, we've launched several highly anticipated features, including the all-new "EZ PCIe Release" and "EZ PCIe Clip II." EZ PCIe Release enables users to easily remove graphics cards installed in the primary PCIe Gen 5.0 slot on X870-based motherboards. Meanwhile, the updated EZ PCIe Clip II features an improved hook mechanism that improves both removal and installation.

When it comes to graphics cards, their increasing size and weight can strain the motherboard. To counter this, MSI has reinforced all of its motherboards with three additional anchor points and thicker material used for the slots. This change makes the PCIe slot 121% stronger compared to the previous generation PCIe Steel Armor slot. Able to withstand twice the weight of the graphics card, it ensures worry-free stability and reliability.

Introducing our second generation EZ M.2 Clip II, which makes installing and removing M.2 SSD storage easier than ever. With a new screwless design, removal is easy with a simple squeeze on the sidebar to fully open the screwless M.2 Frozr. Installation is just as straightforward – a single push locks the M.2 SSD into place, while removal only requires a slight pull to the left.

As newer devices continue to advance in speed, MSI's motherboards are also getting an upgrade. All X870 motherboards are equipped with Lightning PCIe Gen 5.0 and M.2 slots, maximizing the bandwidth potential of modern devices. Additionally, a USB 4 connector is now standard on all MSI X870 motherboards, supporting speeds of up to 40GB/s.

In addition to lightning-fast storage, uninterrupted connectivity is essential for fast data transfer and seamless networking experiences. MSI has also upgraded the Wi-Fi antenna module with a quick-release mechanism that simplifies installation on any PC build.
