Cyber Brick City returns in a reimagined edition that engages children through interactive storytelling, immersive design, and 3D-printed landscapes.

On March 12, 2026, Bambu Lab and meland, a leading Chinese brand in indoor family entertainment, announced the opening of China's first 3D printing creativity center for children. The center was launched in the MixC World complex in Shenzhen.

The upgraded location has been officially named “meland × Bambu Lab, the country’s first science and technology-themed store.” This is the first project implemented as part of the strategic partnership between the two companies. It is also the first time that consumer 3D printing technology has entered the physical children’s entertainment space in a systematic way through a structured program of activities and courses.

The common area is designed for family experiences and children's active participation. It is divided into two main zones: an experience area and an educational area.

The centerpiece of the experience zone is a CyberBrick model of a "cyber city".

Built from components 3D-printed by Bambu Lab, the model utilizes the company's modular ecosystem of intelligent toys. In miniature, it recreates iconic attractions from Meland's playgrounds. Lighting and dynamic effects create an immersive experience.

The design team behind the installation has incorporated a wide range of structural and visual details that make the 3D printed models appear more lifelike and help children gain an intuitive understanding of the technology through direct interaction.

The experience zone also includes a display wall of Bambu Lab A1 printers, showcasing both finished prints and the printing process itself, so parents and children can see the results of the technology and understand how it works before they enter the classroom.

The teaching area is aimed at children aged 5 to 12 and offers courses at two levels: introductory classes and exploration classes.

In the introductory classes, the children, guided by instructors, learn about Bambu Lab's 3D printers, understand the basic principles behind the technology, and go through the entire process of producing a print.

The exploration teams take it a step further: Here, the children learn how to transform their own ideas into simple 3D models, which they then print during the lesson, so that they end up with a physical object that they themselves have helped create.

To ensure a consistent experience and a family-friendly environment, Bambu Lab has provided systematic training for meland's staff so that the employees can lead the teaching and support both parents and children through the activities.

3D printing offers children a complete creative journey – from idea to physical object. A child begins with a concept, moves through the process of designing a model, and finally receives a finished object that they have helped produce. This process requires independent thinking and decision-making, which gradually develops both creativity and practical skills. In the future, the center will also host additional events and activities focused on learning through play.

For Bambu Lab, the collaboration with meland represents the company's first practical experiment in introducing 3D printing technology into physical environments for family education.

For meland, the introduction of 3D printing experiences is a continuation of their philosophy of “learning through play and play through learning.” Today, the meland network operates in more than 70 cities in China with over 140 directly owned locations, providing a strong infrastructure to introduce creative educational content on a large scale.

The collaboration between Bambu Lab and meland brings a new type of experience to family entertainment, one centered on participation and creation. By combining 3D printing with immersive environments, interactive experiences and creative workshops, the technology becomes a natural part of everyday family activities. Children can go through an entire creative process while playing, and take home a tangible result of their work.

The 3D printing industry is moving towards more engaging and creative forms of participation. The technology, capable of transforming ideas into real objects and allowing children to actively participate in the creative process, fits naturally into family entertainment and offers the industry a new direction with strong growth potential.
