For fans of 3D Print, exciting news is currently coming from the Formnext fair in Germany. Here Elegoo has, among other things, unveiled some of the new things we can look forward to from them in the near future.

Elegoo soon ready with their own LCD slicer software

Elegoo presents its first LCD slicer software, Elegoo SatelLite, at Formnext 2024, one of the world's largest 3D printing exhibitions. The launch coincides with new hardware products and marks an important step for Elegoo in expanding their ecosystem by combining hardware and software.

SatelLite includes the innovative EVO Support System, which automatically offers optimized supports on your prints using advanced algorithms that improve stability and flexibility compared to existing slicers. It can improve the user experience for both beginners and professionals.

Integrated 3D Printing Solution.jpg

"Elegoo SatelLite is the perfect entry point to resin printing, especially for FDM users who are ready to explore," said Chris Hong, CEO of Elegoo. "Just as a satellite orbits its planet, Elegoo SatelLite orbits our flagship products like Mars, Saturn, Jupiter and more, safely guiding users through their resin printing journey."

Next Level: Simple but powerful

Elegoo SatelLite is a unique all-in-one 3D slicer that offers comprehensive solutions for 3D printing, model editing, slicing, device management and more. It not only supports Elegoo resin printers, but also works with printers from other brands.

Key features include:

EVO Support System:

The name "EVO" derives from "evolution" and reflects its continuous improvement. Elego's EVO Support System automatically analyzes your model and suggests the ideal supports for perfect prints.

With extensive customization options, it also caters to advanced users who want full control. Whether you prioritize speed or precision, EVO guarantees professional results every time.

User-friendly interface:

Elegoo SatelLite offers a customizable toolbar and an intuitive interface with step-by-step instructions that make it easy to use for all levels. New users can quickly get started, while experienced users can easily navigate complex tasks.

Extensive material library:

Choosing the right resin and the right settings has often been a challenge for many users. Elegoo SatelLite solves this with a personalized material management system that simplifies the handling of resin settings. With one click, users can access official profiles and easily configure their printers for optimal performance.

Elegoo Saturn 4 Ultra 16K - With built-in heat

Saturn 4 Ultra 16K.jpg

It is not long ago that Elegoo launched their Saturn 4 Ultra resin 3D Printer, which we have reviewed here. At Formnext, however, Elegoo has unveiled an upcoming update for the Saturn 4 Ultra, which now has 16K attached to its name.

Elegoo focuses on the updated screen in the new model.

The previous Saturn 4 Ultra came “only” with a 10” 12K (11520x5120) resolution, while the new updated version comes with a now updated 10” screen with a 16K (15120 x 6230) resolution.

On paper, this means that sharper prints are now possible. However, my experience is that the difference is so minimal that it won't make a super big difference for most people.

Heated Resin tub

The feature that makes MUCH more sense in my opinion is the addition of a heated resin tub. It is one of the most requested features and now Elegoo has added it to the updated Saturn 4 Ultra 16K.

Temperature can have a great influence on the quality of Resin 3D Print, and for those of us who live in a colder climate, it is a fantastic feature to have in a resin 3D Printer.

The new heated vessel automatically detects the temperature and can heat your resin from 5 degrees to a more optimal temperature of 25 degrees within half an hour.

The temperature is then continuously kept stable, and with a pre-heat function you can ensure that the Saturn 4 Ultra 16K only starts printing when your resin has reached the right temperature.

Smart features

In addition to the updated screen and the heated resin vessel, the new Saturn 4 Ultra 16K still comes with the same range of smart features that we saw on the previous Saturn 4 Ultra. So it still has a tilt release vessel, AI camera, network functionality and sensors that check the resin status and whether there are foreign objects in your vessel before a print.

Another small update is that a light has now been added in the print chamber, so that you can actually use the built-in camera without having to have the light on in the room where the printer is located.

At present, Elegoo has not stated when we can look forward to the new Saturn 4 Ultra 16K being launched, but the expectation is at the beginning of the new year.
