Elegoo has announced the launch of their line of fiber-reinforced filaments, expanding the performance and versatility of FDM 3D printing.

The new series includes Carbon Fiber Reinforced PETG (PETG-CF), Glass Fiber Reinforced PETG (PETG-GF), and Carbon Fiber Reinforced High Temperature Nylon (PAHT-CF) – three high-performance materials that offer improved strength, durability, and professional results, starting at $9.99 for 0.5 kg. Additional filament variants are already in development and will be launched in line with user feedback and specific application needs.

According to a recent study by Elegoo, low awareness and higher costs are the primary reasons why many users have not yet tried fiber-reinforced filaments.

"With Centauri Carbon, our FDM performance reached a new level. Now we want to match it with equally capable materials," said Chris Hong, founder and CEO of Elegoo.
"Consumer 3D printing is not just about toys. It's a tool for making practical, everyday objects, and we hope more people will have that experience."

Elegoo's Series of Fiber Reinforced Filaments

PETG-CF (black/gray):

Combining the toughness of PETG with the stiffness of carbon fiber creates a material with high strength, stiffness and abrasion resistance. It has a low-gloss, matte finish that resists wear and hides weld lines, making it ideal for functional parts and outdoor components. Typical applications include brackets, lightweight fittings, bicycle parts, cabinet components, gears, locks, automotive components and mechanical enclosures.

PETG-GF (black/gray/white):

Adding glass fiber to PETG increases hardness and abrasion resistance, while the material provides excellent electrical insulation thanks to the non-conductive properties of the glass fiber. With a high-quality matte finish that minimizes the visibility of layers, PETG-GF is suitable for functional parts that require both durability and insulation. Recommended applications include electrical enclosures, internal structures in industrial machinery, tool mounts, bicycle pedals, connectors, and abrasion-resistant terminals.

PAHT-CF (black):

This material combines carbon fiber with high-temperature nylon to provide excellent heat resistance, mechanical strength, and chemical corrosion resistance. It can withstand temperatures up to 194°C and maintains its structural integrity under thermal stress. PAHT-CF also has excellent interlayer adhesion, high wear resistance, and good dimensional accuracy, making it ideal for demanding applications. Recommended applications include engine housings, engine components, heat-resistant fittings, gears, bearings, and structural parts or metal replacements in automotive and industrial applications.
