After a long wait, Qualcomm recently presented their new PC processors with ARM architecture. The new range is now available in a wide range of more budget-friendly laptops. Qualcomm is working to introduce cheaper devices in 2025, but these will be mini PCs, not laptops.

After a long wait, Qualcomm presented a few months ago their new range of PC processors with ARM architecture. This was a highly anticipated launch, after many months of rumours, leaks and comparisons. Consisting of the Snapdragon X Elite and Snapdragon X Plus, this new lineup is now available in a wide variety of computers starting at $1,000.

This is a big barrier for many users who cannot afford to pay that much money for a computer. Qualcomm is aware of this barrier and announced a few weeks ago that they were working on a series of processors with this architecture that would be priced at $700.

These processors may not offer the same performance as those already on the market, but they will have support for Microsoft's Copilot+. This means that the integrated NPU processor will offer a minimum performance of 45 TOPS, the minimum requirement set by Microsoft for a PC to fall into the "PC with AI" category.

However, it was never announced when the expected launch of this new series of computers with ARM architecture would be. But now the company has finally revealed it: it will be in 2025 when the cheaper Qualcomm devices with ARM processors will hit the market, and they will do so in the form of mini PCs, not laptops.
