Kingston Technology Europe announced yesterday that it has once again been ranked as the world's largest third-party supplier of DRAM modules, according to the latest revenue-based rankings from research firm TrendForce. Kingston maintains its top spot with an estimated 66% market share.

TrendForce reports that DRAM module sales increased 7% year-over-year in 2023, reversing the decline seen the previous year. Kingston maintained its strong market position, although revenue growth was dampened by lower consumer demand in the second half of 2024. According to the report, the world's top five memory module manufacturers accounted for 81% of total sales in 2024, while the top eight accounted for 83%. The results underscore Kingston's dominant position as the clear market leader in DRAM module production, with the second-largest supplier accounting for just 5% of the total market.

By the end of Q4 2023, DRAM vendors began to prioritize high-bandwidth memory and server-based DDR5 products. This strategic shift led to tighter supply of other DRAM types, increasing demand and pushing prices up. In response, module manufacturers increased their purchases and replenished inventories, contributing to a total market revenue of $13.3 billion in 2024. However, during the second half of the year, rising module prices began to dampen demand, thereby limiting sales growth.

In 2024, Kingston launched a limited edition version of the Kingston FURY Renegade series, inspired by race cars. The Kingston FURY Renegade DDR5 RGB Limited Edition featured a distinctive, curved design inspired by modern race cars and utilized the latest technology to achieve an impressive speed of 8000MT/s, supporting extreme overclocking and reducing performance bottlenecks.

Additionally, Kingston introduced Kingston FURY Renegade DDR5 CUDIMMs, which are compatible with Intel's new 800-series chipset (formerly codenamed Arrow Lake ). The launch of overclockable DDR5 CUDIMMs provides professional users with high-performance solutions that can harness the full potential of their systems without compromising signal integrity.

“TrendForce’s 2024 results reflect the company’s continued strength and adaptability in another challenging business year,” said Iwona Zalewska, DRAM Business Manager, EMEA, Kingston. “This milestone not only confirms Kingston’s dominant position in the market, but also underscores our resilience and importance in the industry – we now proudly maintain our number one position for the 22nd consecutive year.”
