DJI launches Osmo Pocket 4P with two lenses

DJI has unveiled the Osmo Pocket 4P – the company’s first compact gimbal camera with a dual-lens setup. Combining a wide-angle and a mid-telephoto lens in one ultra-compact format weighing just 230 grams, the camera covers everything from wide cityscapes to close-up portraits with a strong cinematic feel.

A camera with two perspectives

The camera's primary strength is the ability to switch between two different focal lengths directly on the device:

  • Wide-angle lens: Combines a new 1” CMOS sensor , 20mm focal length, f/2.0 aperture and LOFIC technology. The sensor delivers a full 17 stops of dynamic range , preserving detail in both deep shadows and strong highlights in sunsets or backlighting.
  • Mid-telephoto lens: A dedicated 60mm lens with an f/1.8 aperture that offers 3x optical zoom and up to 12x total zoom. It brings your subject closer and creates portraits with natural depth and a soft background.

Professional colors, 4K/240fps and ActiveTrack 8.0

The image processing and tracking functionality have been overhauled for high image quality and easy operation while moving:

  • Color and Slow Motion: The camera supports 10-bit D-Log 2 (over 1 billion colors) for great post-processing flexibility. It can record in up to 4K at 240 fps (up to 8x slow motion) and use Slow Shutter Video for creative motion blur.
  • Mechanical stabilization & tracking: A three-axis mechanical gimbal keeps footage steady. ActiveTrack 8.0 can automatically recognize and follow people, vehicles, and pets—even at up to 12x zoom.
  • Photo and smart features: Captures still images up to 37MP and supports 4K Live Photo (saves 1.5 seconds of video with each photo). It can be controlled remotely via Gesture Control with hand gestures (e.g. V-sign for recording or open hand for tracking).

Fast transfer, screen operation and battery

The camera is quickly turned on by rotating the touchscreen. It has built-in storage and USB 3.1, which enables transfer speeds of up to 800 MB/s . The battery charges from 0 to 80 percent in just 18 minutes and delivers up to 210 minutes of total battery life on a full charge.
