Logitech launches MX Keypad for developers

The need for the product stems from the increasing number of AI tools that developers must switch between on a daily basis. Anatoliy Polyanker, VP and General Manager at Logitech, said in connection with the launch:

“The ability to master coding today largely depends on how easily developers can navigate an ever-growing number of AI tools. MX Keypad puts a physical control center at your fingertips, so you can manage your AI workflows faster and more intuitively.”

Tight integration with GitHub and major coding platforms

MX Keypad is designed to work across multiple IDEs and AI coding tools. The physical keyboard allows you to execute prompt macros, refactor code, and launch specific commands directly across platforms like GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, VS Code, and IntelliJ IDEA.

MX Keypad was developed in close collaboration with GitHub and feedback from the Logitech MX Collective community. Martin Woodward, VP of Developer Relations at GitHub, emphasizes the value of the integration:

“Good development tools don’t get in your way. MX Keypad makes working with GitHub Copilot feel like a natural part of the workflow, so developers can spend less time navigating between tools and more time building.”

As part of the launch, all MX Keypad devices include three months of free access to GitHub Copilot Pro+ , which can be redeemed through the Logi Options+ software by both new and existing users.

Full customization via Logi Actions SDK and Marketplace

Each key on the MX Keypad can be configured to control one or more apps and AI agents simultaneously. To give developers maximum flexibility, Logitech is providing an open Logi Actions SDK . It includes AI-friendly documentation, allowing AI coders to generate custom integrations directly from the SDK in no time.

The developer community has already created plugins for Claude Code and OpenAI Codex, among others, through the Logi Marketplace. It allows you to track the status of AI agents in real time and control CLI functions directly from the physical keys. The solution is built on an infrastructure that is compatible with more than 100 million existing Logitech devices.

Sustainable material selection

Logitech has focused on environmental impact in the manufacturing of the control center. The MX Keypad is made with certified post-consumer recycled plastic (PCR):

Graphite model: Made from 64 percent recycled plastic.

Pale Grey model: Made from 49 percent recycled plastic.

Packaging: Made from paper from FSC-certified forests and other controlled sources.
