Samsung announced Wednesday that it will lead the South Korean home appliance market with an advanced artificial intelligence (AI) solution designed to connect all smart devices and simplify household chores while reducing time and effort.

"We have earned customer trust that Samsung Electronics is a leader in AI innovation with products such as AI smartphones and AI Combo washing machine," said Lim Seong-taek, executive vice president of sales and marketing in South Korea, during a press event at the company's headquarters in Suwon , south of Seoul.

"We will continue to introduce various AI products and solutions to strengthen Samsung Electronics' AI leadership in the domestic market," he said. Based on its AI-powered 'SmartThings' connectivity platform, AI analyzes users' habits, designs their usage patterns and applies them to all Samsung Electronics home appliances, from air conditioners and refrigerators to TVs and smartphones, reports Yonhap news agency.

Samsung Electronics highlighted its "AI Life Solution", exemplified by the Family Care service, which is specially tailored for elderly lifestyles. This service allows family members who live far away to monitor their parents' use of TVs, refrigerators and other devices at home, and also remotely control these devices through the SmartThings application from wherever they are.

Users can also get notifications when their parents show unusual behavior at home. The Family Care service also offers an optimal solution for newlyweds and single households, helping them to lighten the burden of housework and enjoy their leisure time. Samsung Electronics said that all its products manufactured after 2020 are compatible with its 'SmartThings' connection."
