The keyboard uses the classic "split" design, which divides the keys down the middle and angles them so your hands and arms rest in a natural position. To make the transition to a split keyboard easier, Razer has made a few clever design choices: You get double "B" keys, double spacebars, and a backspace key placed in the middle. This lets your thumbs do the heavy lifting and minimizes awkward finger stretches.

The keys themselves are ultra-low profile with small spherical indentations that guide your fingertips into place. The baseplate has a 10-degree tilt, and you can adjust the typing angle to five levels (from a flat 0° to both negative and positive tilts of 4° and 7°). This makes it incredibly flexible, whether you're sitting down or standing at a height-adjustable desk. The icing on the cake is a built-in, soft-touch palm rest and minimalist, subdued Chroma RGB lighting.

Even though it's an office keyboard, you get access to Razer's full software engine via Razer Synapse. Here you can program the five dedicated macro keys and fine-tune the built-in "Command Dial" (a physical rotary wheel) so you can easily zoom, scroll long documents, or scrub video layouts without moving your hand.
The big software innovation, however, is the dedicated AI Prompt Master key. Instead of having to switch windows to open ChatGPT or Copilot, you can have your favorite AI summarize text, write emails, or brainstorm directly in your workflow with one tap.
On the connectivity side, the keyboard is a real octopus. It supports up to five devices at a time: One via the lightning-fast HyperSpeed 2.4 GHz dongle, three via Bluetooth profiles, and one via a wired USB-C connector.

In an open office environment, noisy mechanical keys are a mortal sin. That's why Razer has filled the Pro Type Ergo with sound-absorbing layers and tuned stabilizers that provide a very quiet and controlled typing experience. The short travel on the low-profile keys also means that your fingers need less force per keystroke, which drastically reduces fatigue at the end of the day if you're writing code or long texts.
Battery life is rated to last up to three months of typical office use on a single charge. It's a massive relief to not have to change AA batteries and to simply charge the keyboard via USB-C while you're working.
With the Pro Type Ergo, Razer proves that they take the productivity market very seriously. By combining a true ergonomic split layout with powerful workflow tools like a Command Dial, AI shortcuts, and a backspace in the middle, they offer features that even the most established office brands lack.
