To promote open standards for the automotive industry, Karma Automotive will integrate Intel Automotive solutions into its vehicle platform.

Karma Automotive, a California-based electric vehicle manufacturer owned by a Chinese company, is ready to implement Intel Automotive solutions throughout its vehicle platform. The collaboration with Intel Automotive focuses on developing a software-defined vehicle (SDV) architecture that will feature prominently in Karma's upcoming models, including the Karma Kaveya, slated for release in 2026.

In addition, Karma and Intel will work together to demonstrate key concepts to promote open standards in SDV technology. These standards are intended to be shared openly and commercially, facilitating broader industrial transformation and innovation. Marques McCammon, president of Karma Automotive, stated that this initiative aims to support Tier 1 suppliers and OEMs who are reluctant to switch from traditional methods to new technologies.

He further explained that the company will act as an ally and help with business-to-business SDV solutions, just as they currently offer services through Karma Connect. One of the world's leading OEMs already uses this proprietary platform for vehicle data management and over-the-air services. Jack Weast, Intel Fellow, Vice President and General Manager of Intel Automotive, noted that Intel Automotive recognizes that the automotive industry is experiencing a significant period of change.

He added that Intel has helped other industries navigate similar transformations in the past, and expressed pride in supporting the automotive sector through these changes.
