Monitor and display giant BenQ has received a bronze medal in the global EcoVadis sustainability assessment. With a score of 66 out of 100 points, BenQ is ranked in the top 35% of more than 175,000 companies assessed worldwide. The recognition comes on the back of the company's environmental and ESG strategy, which is based on the principle "Because Earth Matters".

"Advanced" level for occupational health and safety

EcoVadis assesses companies in four main areas: environment, labor/human rights, ethics and responsible sourcing. BenQ particularly impressed in labor and human rights, where their efforts were categorized as "Advanced".

In addition, BenQ's certifications in environmental management (ISO 14001), occupational health and safety (ISO 45001) and information security (ISO 27001) are highlighted.

Concrete decrease in CO2 emissions

The company's commitment to the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) and RE100 has already borne fruit in the supply chain:

  • Smaller carbon footprint: BenQ has reduced its global Scope 3 greenhouse gas emissions by 21.08% compared to the base year 2021.
  • Green power in Europe: 38% of energy consumption in BenQ's European division now comes from renewable energy sources.

Jay SC Wu, President of BenQ Europe, says:

“The EcoVadis bronze medal gives us a solid foundation to build on. As part of our ESG commitments, we work every day to reduce our impact and strengthen sustainability efforts in all our processes – from production to distribution.”
